Training the Next Generation of Nurses
Liverpool John Moores University set out to refurbish and extend its Nursing and Allied Health care facilities at Tithebarn Street, in the heart of Liverpool's city-centre campus, alongside a refurbishment of the adjoining Avril Robarts Library. The combined programme was valued at £21 million.
Teaching facilities of this kind are electrically demanding. Clinical simulation suites, lecture theatres, IT-heavy learning spaces, libraries and student services all carry different lighting, power and data requirements — and all of them have to meet the life-safety standards expected of a public building occupied by thousands of students.
MARA Electrical were appointed by Willmott Dixon and Kimpton to deliver the entire electrical services package, valued at £3 million. It remains one of the largest single electrical contracts we have completed.
