Generating clean power at the headquarters of the body responsible for protecting one of Britain's most celebrated landscapes.
Snowdonia National Park Authority — Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri — administers 823 square miles of protected landscape from its headquarters in Penrhyndeudraeth, near Porthmadog in Gwynedd.
An organisation whose statutory purpose includes conserving natural beauty and promoting sustainable use of its area is under a particular kind of scrutiny when it installs anything on its own building. The array had to deliver genuine generation while being entirely appropriate to a public building inside the national park boundary.
For us it was also a matter of local pride. Eryri is on our doorstep, and working on the Authority's own headquarters is the sort of project that stays with a team long after the scaffolding comes down.
Public-sector delivery with the documentation, compliance and care that a protected setting demands.
Design and installation of the photovoltaic array across the headquarters building, sized to the Authority's own consumption profile.
Panel layout and inverter siting planned around the appearance of a public building inside a national park, not just around peak yield.
Full electrical connection, protection and DNO notification, certified to BS 7671 18th Edition.
Commissioning, certification and handover under MCS, with the documentation a public-sector client requires.

Clean electricity generated at the headquarters building, cutting bought-in power and the cost that comes with it.
A national park authority generating renewable energy on its own estate — the strongest possible answer to anyone asking whether it practises what it promotes.
Delivered by a North Wales electrical contractor rather than a distant national installer, keeping the spend and the expertise in the region.
MCS certified, NICEIC approved, fully documented — the standard public-sector procurement expects.
Penrhyndeudraeth sits at the head of the Dwyryd estuary between Porthmadog and Maentwrog, close to Portmeirion and the Ffestiniog Railway. From our Queensferry base on Deeside it is a run west along the A55 and down through the Conwy valley — a couple of hours, and well within the area we serve.
We install commercial and domestic solar right across North Wales: Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham, as well as Chester and Cheshire. Projects like this and the 250kWp in-roof array at Pentre Canol in Denbigh sit in the same portfolio as our multi-megawatt distribution centre work in England — the same team, the same accreditations, scaled to the building.
Whatever your building type, we survey it, design for it and certify it. Talk to us about commercial solar panel installation, or browse the full solar portfolio.
