Regeneration on the Mersey Waterfront

Liverpool’s Central Docks sit within the northern waterfront regeneration area, part of the wider transformation of the historic dock estate north of the Pier Head.

At 54kWp this is a modest commercial array by the standards of our distribution centre work, but the requirements are unchanged: assess the roof, design the electrical system properly, notify the network operator, and certify the installation to BS 7671 and MCS.

Clients often assume smaller projects get a lighter-touch service. They should not, and with us they do not.

Waterfront sites also carry the coastal considerations we know well from ABP Southampton and DP World — wind exposure and salt-laden air both influence specification, even at this scale.

Solar Across Merseyside & the Wirral

Liverpool is one of our closest major markets — the M53 runs from Deeside up the Wirral and through the Kingsway tunnel in well under an hour. Alongside Central Docks we have delivered solar at Phoenix Place in Liverpool with Nobles Construction.

That corridor — Deeside, Ellesmere Port, the Wirral, Birkenhead and Liverpool — is dense with commercial and industrial property, and we work across all of it as readily as we work in Chester and Flintshire.

Whatever your building type, we survey it, design for it and certify it. Talk to us about commercial solar panel installation, or browse the full solar portfolio.

Solar on Liverpool’s Waterfront

Central Docks forms part of Liverpool’s waterfront beside the River Mersey. Regent Road and the historic Trafalgar and Collingwood Docks are reference points for the wider district. This case study records the 54kWp installation completed with Newry Construction in 2019; these landmarks describe the area rather than identify a particular building.
