Commercial EV Charging Installation North Wales & Chester

OZEV approved commercial EV charging installation for workplaces, car parks and fleets. From a single 22kW pedestal to a 60-bay, 1MVA charging hub, we design the electrical infrastructure — not just fit the units. NICEIC approved contractors trusted by Iceland Foods, Novuna and Mobilize Power Solutions.

Real Infrastructure, Not Just Wall Boxes

Commercial EV charging installation is an electrical engineering project — dedicated supplies, load management and DNO applications. We're NICEIC approved electrical contractors first and an OZEV approved installer second, so the infrastructure is designed properly, not bolted on.

Workplace Charging & Fleet Charging

Workplace EV charging North Wales businesses install for staff and visitors is a different design problem to fleet charging for vans and company cars. We design for whichever — or both — from one site visit.

Staff & Visitors

Workplace EV Charging

Multiple bays across a car park, used throughout the day rather than overnight. Load management matters most here — sharing capacity fairly as cars come and go.

  • Dynamic load balancing across bays
  • Access control & usage billing options
  • Workplace Charging Scheme grant support
Vans & Company Cars

Fleet EV Charging

Vehicles return to base and charge overnight or between shifts. Fleet charging needs guaranteed simultaneous output on a three-phase supply — every bay live at once, on a schedule you control.

  • Dedicated supply sized for full fleet draw
  • Scheduled overnight charging by depot
  • Built-in spare capacity for fleet growth
Proof, Not Promises

Large-Scale Commercial EV Charging We've Delivered

No solar-only installer in the region has projects like these. Three real commercial EV charging installations, from a single dedicated fleet supply to a 1MVA multi-bay hub.

What "Commercial EV Charging" Actually Involves

Anyone can screw a charger to a wall. Multi-bay commercial EV charging installation means sizing a supply that can take the load, getting the DNO's permission to connect it, and building in load management so sixty bays don't trip the site. This is where being an electrical contractor — not a charger reseller — matters.

  • G99 grid connection — the DNO application for any supply above 3.68kW per phase, handled start to finish.
  • LV switchgear & switchrooms — designed and installed in-house, up to 1MVA dedicated supplies.
  • Dynamic load management — sharing available capacity across every active bay in real time.
  • Futureproofed capacity — spare ways and ducting so bay 61 is a connection, not a re-dig.

Workplace Charging Scheme & the £500 OZEV Grant

Businesses can access OZEV grant funding too — worth up to £500 per socket toward eligible workplace EV charging installations. As an OZEV approved installer we confirm eligibility on survey and manage the claim alongside your project.

£500 per socket · Workplace Charging Scheme 2026

Available to businesses that:

  • Are a registered UK business, charity or public sector body
  • Have dedicated off-street parking for staff or fleet
  • Are installing new EV charge points, not replacing existing ones
  • Use an OZEV approved installer for the work

Grant rules and caps vary by scheme size. Tell us your bay count and vehicle mix on survey and we'll model the funding against your quote.

Questions Businesses Ask Us

How much does commercial EV charging installation cost?

It depends entirely on scale — a handful of 7kW fleet pedestals is a different budget to a 60-bay, 1MVA hub. Our Pirtex fleet project was around £10k; the Iceland Foods 21-bay staff car park was around £100k. We give a fixed quote after a site survey, once we know your bay count, vehicle mix and existing supply.

Do businesses qualify for the £500 OZEV grant?

Many do, under the Workplace Charging Scheme, worth up to £500 per socket for eligible new installations. As an OZEV approved installer we check eligibility during your survey and handle the claim alongside the project — you don't manage separate paperwork.

What is a G99 grid connection and do we need one?

Any supply above 3.68kW per phase needs a G99 application to your Distribution Network Operator — which covers almost every multi-bay commercial installation. We submit the application, manage witness testing and get you Approval to Connect, so it's one less thing on your plate.

Can you handle a large-scale commercial EV charging installation?

Yes — our largest project to date is a 60-bay, 1MVA hub for Novuna, including the LV switchroom and switchgear design. We've also delivered 21 bays for Iceland Foods and fleet infrastructure for Pirtex. Large-scale commercial EV charging is exactly where our electrical contracting background matters most.

What's the difference between workplace and fleet charging?

Workplace charging serves staff and visitor cars throughout the day, so load management across bays matters most. Fleet charging serves vans or company cars returning to base, usually overnight, so guaranteed simultaneous output matters more. We design for either, or both on the same site.

Which chargers do you install commercially?

Autel MaxiCharger for large-scale hubs, Sevadis MaxiCharger for fleet pedestals, and EV Box Business Line for staff car parks — the exact hardware behind our Novuna, Pirtex and Iceland Foods projects. We recommend based on your bay count and usage pattern, not a single house brand.

How long does a commercial installation take?

A few pedestals can be done in days. Multi-bay hubs needing a G99 application and new switchgear typically run 8 to 16 weeks from survey to live bays, largely driven by DNO approval timescales rather than our own installation time. We give you a realistic programme at quote stage.

Do you work outside North Wales?

For commercial projects, yes. While home and small workplace installs stay close to our Deeside base, our larger commercial EV charging installations have taken us across the North West, including Manchester and Scotland. Get in touch with your site details and we'll confirm.
