Simon founded MARA Electrical in Queensferry, Deeside in 2010 after more than a decade as a working electrician, and has been its director since the company was registered that August. Fifteen years on, the firm he built is a NICEIC approved contractor, an MCS certified solar installer and an OZEV approved EV charger installer with more than 2,500 projects behind it.

Simon Mara is the founder and Managing Director of MARA Electrical Ltd, an electrical contractor based at Expressway Business Park in Queensferry, Deeside. He started the company in 2010 with one rule, do the job right first time, and has grown it from domestic rewires in Flintshire into a contractor trusted with national retail solar rollouts, public-sector buildings and large EV charging infrastructure, without changing that rule.

Simon built the company around straight talk, tidy installs and zero-drama project delivery. In practice that means:
- Fixed written quotes after a survey, with the generation or load calculation shown, not a headline price that grows on the day.
- Electricians first. Solar and EV chargers are electrical installations. The consumer unit, earthing and DNO paperwork get the same attention as the panels.
- Own employed team. No subcontracted sales or install crews. The surveyor, the installer and the person who answers the phone work for MARA.
- Leave sites cleaner than we found them. A habit from domestic work that carries into 60-bay charging hubs.
- Say no when the roof is wrong. If a system will not pay back, Simon would rather tell you than sell it.
