A Rollout Measured in Motorway Miles

Eleven stores spread from Bognor Regis on the south coast to Sunderland in the north east, taking in Staines, Calcot, Northampton, Northwich, Thanet, Heaton Park, Portishead, Ilford and Bedford along the way.

National rollouts are logistics problems as much as electrical ones. Materials, access equipment and teams have to arrive at the right store in the right week, and each site needs its own structural check, its own electrical design and its own network operator notification.

Eleven stores, eleven roofs, eleven grid connections — and one standard applied to all of them.

What holds it together is a single specification applied everywhere. The customer walking into the Sunderland store should be getting exactly the same quality of installation above their head as the one in Portishead.

Multi-Site Rollout Delivery

Circa 300kWp delivered across eleven trading supermarkets nationwide.

Circa 300kWp Total

Photovoltaic arrays installed across eleven Sainsbury's stores from the south coast to the north east.

National Coordination

Programme, materials and teams coordinated across eleven sites in eleven different regions.

Site-by-Site Engineering

Individual structural assessment, electrical design and DNO notification for every store.

Live Trading Throughout

Every store remained open and trading for the duration of its installation.

The Eleven-Store Programme

What Sainsbury's Got

Renewable Capacity at Scale

Circa 300kWp added across eleven stores, contributing to Sainsbury's estate-wide carbon reduction.

One Contractor, Eleven Sites

A single point of responsibility across a national programme rather than eleven local arrangements.

Uniform Certification

MCS certified and NICEIC approved at every store, with consistent documentation for the whole rollout.

Zero Trading Disruption

Not one store lost a day's trading to the installation programme.

National Rollouts From a North Wales Base

This programme, the 1.2MWp across six further Sainsbury's stores, ten Tesco stores and approximately forty Aldi stores add up to a retail solar track record few regional contractors can match.

We are based in Queensferry on Deeside, and that is where our surveys, our design work and our core team sit. National reach has never meant losing the local base — it is why a business in Chester or Flintshire gets a contractor with Tier 1 retail experience and a local phone number.

Whatever your building type, we survey it, design for it and certify it. Talk to us about commercial solar panel installation, or browse the full solar portfolio.
