4. How we use your personal data

• Performance of a Contract: Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you (e.g., to install a solar array or EV charger).

Industry-Specific Data Sharing

To lawfully and safely complete certain electrical and renewable installations, we may be required to share your Identity, Contact, and Property Data with specific regulatory and industry bodies. This includes, but is not limited to:

• MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme): To register your solar PV or battery storage system, allowing you to access Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments.
• OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles): To process grant claims on your behalf for domestic or workplace EV chargepoints.
• DNOs (Distribution Network Operators): Such as Scottish Power Energy Networks or Electricity North West, to submit G98/G99 grid connection applications and notifications for solar and EV installations.
• NICEIC / Local Authority Building Control: To certify that our electrical installations comply with Part P of the Building Regulations.

5. Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

6. Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. By law, we have to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial, and Transaction Data) for six years after they cease being customers for tax purposes. Certification documents for electrical, solar, and EV installations may be kept for longer periods to support guarantees, warranties, and building control records.
