Pirtex had committed to a new fleet of electric vehicles. What they didn't yet have was anywhere on site to charge them — and a fleet without depot charging is a fleet that spends its time queuing at public chargers instead of working.
Fleet charging is a different design problem to workplace charging. Staff cars arrive in the morning and sit all day, so capacity can be shared. Fleet vehicles return to base together and need to be ready together, which means every socket has to deliver its full output when it's called on.
Working through Mobilize Power Solutions, we designed and installed the charging infrastructure alongside the groundworks — with the future expansion built into the ducting rather than left as someone else's problem.

At £10,000 this was a fraction of the value of our 60-bay hub work — and it received exactly the same approach. The ducting was buried properly, the bases were formed to carry the pedestals permanently, and the distribution board was specified for more than the four sockets it currently feeds.
That matters because fleet electrification rarely stops at four vehicles. The businesses that get this right treat the first installation as phase one of a plan, not a one-off purchase. Getting the civils and containment right at the start is what makes phase two affordable.
